A downloadable game for Windows

Meant to be played with the mouse for now. If you are a maniac like me, you can use: Z for A, X for B, and S for Select (it will switch the character you are choosing an attack for). Arrow keys for D-pad.

===============================================================

An attempt to recreate the first Epic Battle Fantasy game, but in 16-bit style. It's based on that one 16-bit gallery image from EBF3, which young me thought looked rad as fuck. Originally this was going to be a Gameboy Advance recreation, but making shit for GBA is hard  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so this is a Godot project instead.

Unfortunately, I suck ass at editing sprites or making animations from them, so this is an incredibly rough draft (it sucks balls). All the attacks (bar the final boss's spirit bomb) shoooouuuuld work, but they don't have animations. I also forgot about the midway-shop. Oops. Also you can't tell if you are buffed or not, because I forgot about buff icons too. Oops. Among, uh, other shortcomings. Maybe I'll continue to work on this, but the ever-present feeling of "I'm making a worse version of something that already exists" is hard to ignore (;′⌒`)

Credits:

Matt's ready sprite was made by Hellworth. (https://x.com/KupoGames/status/1699432291687084501?lang=ar-x-fm)

First song is Matoya's Cave from FF1 Dawn of Souls.

Second song is a version of the FF9 battle theme by this dude:

If you have a keen eye, you may notice that Natalie is in fact Celes from Final Fantasy 6. Other graphics have been stolen from there as well. Thanks, Spriters Resource. (https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/ff6/)

And everything else was enshittified straight from the EBF1 flash file. (https://kupogames.com/web-games/epic-battle-fantasy-1/)
